About Kimi

Kimi is a co-founding partner of Benford Brown & Associates, LLC. Kimi has devoted a substantial portion of her 28 year career to providing audit, accounting, consulting, and tax services to companies within many different industries, including the not-for-profit and government, manufacturing, telecommunications, and real estate industries. As a result, Kimi has acquired several advanced skills such as government and not-for-profit audit and accounting, student financial aid, QuickBooks implementation and training, internal controls review and analysis, SOX compliance, risk assessment, risk management, and individual and corporation taxation. 

Kimi is a licensed CPA in the State of Illinois. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois Society of CPAs, National Association of Black Accountants, Institute of Internal Auditors, and National Association of Female Executives. Kimi is currently the vice-chair of the Diverse Organization of Firms, Inc., which is a national association of African American-owned CPA firms, member of the board of directors of Access Community Health Network and Board Chair of the Southeast Chicago Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Kimi has served as a member of the Woman’s Executive Committee and Government A&A Committee of the Illinois Society of CPAs; board member of the Imani Pearls Community Development Foundation; board member of Bingham Human Services, GameTime, Inc. and Treasurer of Jack & Jill-Windy City Chapter. 

Kimi earned her B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois.
